FREE Training: Tendering for Heritage Projects

Prescot Townscape Heritage Initiative is delighted to be offering a free day of training to local contractors, delivered by the extremely skilled and knowledgeable Alan Gardner , a member of the national SPAB Technical Panel and advisor to the Churches Conservation Trust, among others.

The training will equip contractors with the knowledge and skills to be able to tender for work on historic buildings, particularly Lottery-Funded projects such as the THI, with the aim of increasing the pool of local businesses maintaining and enhancing our local heritage.

Renovation, reconstruction and the maintenance of historical buildings involves specialised skills and techniques. In recognition of this, the training will explain the importance of working with traditional materials and will signpost participants to future courses, accredited and otherwise, so as to build upon their existing skillsets.

The training will be delivered on the 9th of June, 9:30 – 4:30 in the Deanes House, Church Street, Prescot, with lunch and refreshments provided.

It is essential to book on to this training as soon as possible:

Heritage skills training

Historic buildings need people with the right knowledge to look after them. The THI will give people in and entering the local construction industry the opportunity to gain new skills and experience.

The THI will also help people find out more about careers in heritage.
